What we see, what we notice and what we miss.

“EVERY WORK OF ART MAKES THE SAME DEMAND: ‘Look at me.’ Or, put another way, ‘Don’t look at anything else.’ So on some fundamental level, every work of art becomes a interesting exercise in cropping – revealing what the artist chooses to frame in or out.

“Then there is the related paradox regarding human perception. We are visual hunters. We gain 90% of the information we have about our world through our eyesight. Yet our eyes are constantly deceiving us.

“This means we each navigate a world where demarcations are often contrived – and a significant portion of what we see is our own, personal, mental construct. That is the starting point for my creative process..

“My latest pieces are meant to be targets for the human gaze – images that will keep the eyes and the mind interested, searching and moving for as long as possible. Keeping to very simple conventions, I aim to starve the paintings of all meaning – allowing the viewer to concentrate on the act of looking.

“In the end, my work triggers viewers to question what we see, what we notice and what we miss. And also to question how we see art in particular – how we take it in, how we process it, and how we ascribe meaning to it.”  – Kevin Walker

The breadth of Kevin Walker’s creative output expands across a wide range of media, always exploring major trends of past decades and extrapolating them through to current thought. His latest creations are painted electronically and published as NFTs, as one-off works or as limited-edition prints. His art centers around abstract imagery featuring idiosyncratic lines and unexpected color blends. The artist’s unique life experiences and extensive travels inspire his vision and bring a sui generis dimension to his work.
